1. Jonathan Taylor

Clyde Edwards-Helaire managed to sneak into Round 1, but Taylor is a better overall prospect. The team that rolls the dice on him in Round 2 is going to come away with a potential superstar on their hands.

He’s the best ball carrier in his class by a wide margin. His production at Wisconsin was off the charts. Taylor runs the ball with speed, quickness and real violence at the point of attack. He’s a handful for one defender to bring down when he’s got any sort of momentum in his favor.

The knock on him is that he’s not going to be able to be a quality receiver at the next level. Admittedly, he’s got a long way to go in that department. It just wasn’t something he was asked to do in college. It’s also fair to say that nothing about his athletic profile says he can’t add that to his game at the next level.

Any offensive coaching staff that is looking for a running back to add to their physical ground attack should find a way to draft Taylor. He has the natural talent to lead the NFL in rushing one day. Getting that kind of player in Round 2 is a steal for the franchise that makes the move.
