Best pick

34. player. Pick Analysis. WR. Michael Pittman, Jr.. Scouting Report. USC. 808

The Colts simply had to come away with a wide receiver in this deep draft class and they did so with the first available pick to them. There were plenty of other options on the board at the time, so perhaps some might even criticize this, but Pittman is exactly the sort of big, reliable target that’s been missing from this offense for some time.

After a year in which Zach Pascal led the team in receiving yards, 2020 should feature a much stronger passing game and Pittman is ready-made for instant impact.

Worst pick

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. S. 85. 843. Utah. Julian Blackmon. player

Blackmon could turn out to be a very fine pick, which shows you that the “worst” label here is unfairly applied most likely, but in a deep draft in the top 90 picks, Blackmon does come with more asterisks attached than maybe what someone would like to see.

Other prospects also available at the time wouldn’t have come such question marks, but if the Colts really liked the fit and trusted Blackmon’s development in the role, then they needed to follow through on their beliefs.

Final Grade: B+
