Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. Mississippi State. 893. Cameron Dantzler. 89. player

The Vikings were expected to take more than one cornerback in the 2020 NFL Draft and they’ve achieved their goal of upgrading the position with Cameron Dantzler coming off their board toward the end of the third round.

Dantzler brings great size for the position at 6-foot-2 and 188 pounds. He is a good press corner who has the confidence you want out of a cornerback. He played well against LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase when Mississippi State played LSU. It was the toughest matchup for Chase all year in a season he was unstoppable, so that bodes well for his transition to the NFL.

The biggest concern with Dantzler is his speed. He ran the slowest 40 among corners at the combine. He has good instincts, feet and hips to help make up for some of that speed deficiencies but it bears watching in the NFL if he can keep up or if he needs to convert to safety or be limited to special teams.
