Kansas City Chiefs

The Super Bowl champs have most of their starters returning in 2020. Therefore, Andy Reid and Brett Veach had the luxury of taking who they wanted.

In the first round, that player was Clyde Edwards-Helaire. This shifty, dynamic running back gives Patrick Mahomes another threat to add to an already packed offense.

During Day 2 and Day 3, Veach went with players such as linebacker Willie Gay, offensive tackle Lucas Niang and safety L’Jarius Sneed.

Nothing too crazy here for the Chiefs, but it did not have to be. They have Mahomes.

Grade: B

Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan and Dan Quinn have a lot to prove in 2020. A strong draft would help that cause, which the team did a nice job of putting together.

Clemson corner A.J. Terrell was probably a reach at 16. But, the defense needed a corner and this draft class didn’t offer too many options at this position. Later the team selected safety Jaylinn Hawkins and linebacker Mykal Walker in the fourth.

During Day 2, Quinn got himself a defensive tackle out of Auburn named Marlon Davidson, and center Matt Hennessy from Temple.

The Falcons may have forced some picks due to operating purely on need. There were better players available for them to take. However, they still drafted effective players and emphasized defense to start.
