The Minnesota Vikings entered the offseason in a soft rebuild, and they executed it to perfection in this draft. The Stefon Diggs trade saw the Vikings land three extra picks this season, and a pair of shrewd trade backs gave Minnesota even more draft capital to work with.

Minnesota replaced Diggs by taking Justin Jefferson in the first round, who does a lot of the same things that Diggs did in the Vikings’ offense. Adding K.J. Osborn in the fifth round also gives the Vikings another upside play at receiver.

The Vikings also needed to fill out their depth chart at corner and leave the virtual draft with three, headlined by TCU’s Jeff Gladney and Mississippi State’s Cameron Dantzler. Offensive tackle Ezra Cleveland was also a great value pick in the second round as the Vikings look to build depth along the offensive line.

This was considered a deep draft and the Vikings got 15 players out of it, which is an excellent way to build quality depth on a football team. That type of savvy drafting should ensure that Minnesota remains a competitive force in the NFC North next season.
