4. Away: Cincinnati Bengals

Here are the teams the Cowboys will play on the road this season: New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals.

See a theme? Most of those teams are going to play for playoff positions and divisional titles.

A difficult road schedule for the Cowboys looms. Although the last team on that list stands out from the rest. Why? Because the Bengals will more than likely not contend.

Yes, the Bengals have uncharacteristically spent money in free agency and will likely have Joe Burrow under center. Still, out of all those teams listed, they’re the one fringe team that the Cowboys cannot afford to lose to.

It’s important that McCarthy doesn’t look past this game, which is a real possibility depending on how the schedule is laid out. Meaning, this could be a trap game if Dallas doesn’t arrive ready to play.

Middling teams lose games like this. Prescott needs to lead the charge and show everyone that 2020 will be different for the Cowboys.
