Another member of the Warriors dynasty, Kevin Durant has his own story to tell. After several unsuccessful attempts at a ring with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Slim Reaper joined an already loaded Golden State team, pushing it over the top and helping it win two straight rings. A third may have been on the way if not for injuries.
Durant had quite a career prior to that, though. He won the scoring title in just his third season — and did so three more times after. From a very young age he led the Thunder to multitudes of success, only falling at the hands of more experienced opponents.
Regardless of your opinion on his decision to join the Warriors, what he did before and after that agreement was nothing short of spectacular. The seven-footer has the length and fluidity to get off whatever shot he wants to, often with great results. His scoring obviously decreased in the Bay Area, but his efficiency, defense and playmaking took huge jumps.
Never before had a player stood that tall with the such a smooth stroke and handle. He’s virtually unguardable, blending bucket quantity (sixth-highest scoring average ever) and quality (seventh-highest true shooting percentage for a non-big ever) like few have ever done. Combine that with his expanded playmaking and defensive repertoire from his time in Golden State, and you have one of the most complete players in basketball history.
