4. Josh Reynolds will catch 50 passes

Reynolds is the wide receiver who should benefit the most from Cooks’ departure. He’ll need to make sure he beats out rookie Van Jefferson for a spot in the starting lineup, but Reynolds should get a lot of work in the slot this season.

That’s a very important position in McVay’s offense. Reynolds definitely has the athleticism to make big plays. He simply needs to improve his consistency if he wants to up his workload moving forward.

Last year he only managed to catch 21 balls. This year he should be able to double that volume if he takes Cooks’ position in the starting lineup. The rapport he’s already built with Goff should give him a chance to take a significant step forward in his career.

The Rams’ offense is at its best when it features multiple receivers capable of carrying a heavy workload on a weekly basis. That’s bad for players who want to be true No. 1 wideouts in L.A., but it’s good for the No. 2 and No. 3 guys. Reynolds should seize the slot role and put up solid numbers in 2020.
