4. Vs. New Orleans Saints

It has been a minute since the Philadelphia Eagles took on the New Orleans Saints, but there is still plenty of stakes in this matchup. The sides last met in 2018, when the Saints blew out the Eagles in the regular season before a much tighter postseason loss.

The two teams are set to meet again this season since both won their division in 2019. The Eagles barely got in the playoffs as a 9-7 NFC East Champion while the Saints went 13-3, a sign of the talent disparity between the two sides.

There is also a personal aspect to this matchup in the form of Saints’ safety Malcolm Jenkins, who has now played on both sides of the rivalry. Jenkins began his career in New Orleans before moving to Philadelphia, where he helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LII, and played there until signing back with the Saints this winter.

With both teams set to contend for division crowns again, the game should be a huge one for seeding purposes in the NFC. There will be only one first-round bye in the new playoff format, so getting any edge you can in that race is huge.

This game will also be a good measuring stick for the Eagles, who need to find ways to top upper-echelon competition to have a chance to get back to the Super Bowl. A win over the Saints would certainly fit that bill.
