Just looking at his first two seasons in Columbus, you might not have expected Eddie George to become the all-time great that he eventually developed into. Despite appearing in 23 total games as a freshman and sophomore, the running back saw the field sparingly and had only 79 carries for 399 yards and eight touchdowns over that time. Of course, when he became the guy in the offense, everything changed.

As a junior, George put the college football world on notice that he was coming to run past or through every defense. He carried the ball 276 times and produced well with 1,442 yards and 12 touchdowns and flashing as a receiver out of the backfield with 16 grabs for 117 yards. But while that was a warning shot, he was ready for battle in his senior campaign.

George was a total monster in his final year with Ohio State. He ravaged defenses as he put up 1,927 rushing yards on 328 carries and found the end zone 24 times. Even more impressive, he was a dominant receiving threat as well, catching 47 balls for 417 yards and a touchdown as well, completing an unreal season.

For his efforts as a senior, George was rightfully awarded the 1995 Heisman Trophy. He ranks fourth all-time at Ohio State in career rushing yards (3,768) and third all-time in career rushing touchdowns (44). Though he went on to be quite an outstanding pro in the NFL as well, never forget just how incredible of a runner he was while suiting up for the Buckeyes.
