Home: Houston Texans

The Bears face a number of weaker teams against which they must win and a few elite teams against whom they can afford to lose and still squeak into the postseason. However a team like the Houston Texans doesn’t qualify on either end, because the Bears will have to rise up and defeat a solid team here and there in order to play in January, and Bill O’Brien‘s team seems like the ideal opponent for Chicago at this stage.

The Texans will undoubtedly always be a tough out as long as Deshaun Watson remains their starting quarterback. However, the loss of DeAndre Hopkins should really allow teams to remove Will Fuller in the passing game and force Watson into leaning on Kenny Stills and Randall Cobb to win a game. If I’m the Bears, I’d like those chances.

Yes, Houston played deeper into the playoffs that what some expected (divisional round) but O’Brien is doing a good job of draining the talent available to him and it’s hard to see the Texans contending in the South again this year.
