AFC. North. Cleveland Browns. Pick Analysis. 3. player. 53. Scouting Report

For whatever reason, one team we’re not all that high on being a playoff team next year is the Cleveland Browns. Well, they have a horrible reputation to overcome, but have you seen the talent on the roster? Head coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry are the adults in the room this long lost AFC North franchise desperately needed. They just crushed their NFL Draft.

Cleveland had already made several big moves in free agency, like signing former Atlanta Falcons tight end Austin Hooper and former Tennessee Titans right tackle Jack Conklin. Both will step in right away to help give Cleveland one of the most formidable offenses in football. Then, they went out and added several key pieces in the 2020 NFL Draft.

In the first round, the Browns stood pat at No. 10 and took arguably the best offensive tackle prospect in the draft in Jedrick Wills Jr. out of Alabama. While he’ll have to transition from right tackle to left tackle, he is a proven blind side protector from his days of keeping southpaw Tua Tagovailoa upright. Though there is variance here, he’ll be an upgrade over whatever they had.

Cleveland’s best pick was adding another star from DBU in the form of Jim Thorpe Award-winning safety Grant Delpit out of LSU. He had first-round talent, but fell to the Browns in the second round. The Browns love them some Bayou Bengals, don’t they? Cleveland also added depth at the tight end position in the John Mackey Award winner Harrison Bryant out of Florida Atlantic.
