1. Everson Griffin, DL

Everson Griffen might still be sitting on the free agent market due to his age, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have anything left in the tank. He’s played really well during his ten year career – all of which he’s spent with the Vikings – and in the past three seasons, he’s had 26.5 sacks.

Peter King tweeted how the Seahawks could end up with Griffen (or Clowney, who also appeared on this list) and that’d be a nice fit. Seattle’s defense isn’t what it used to be, but Griffen is very much a Seahawks kind of signing. He’s still a premier pass rusher and proved that last year with the eight sacks he had for Minnesota.

The fact that Everson Griffen is still available is shocking, but he won’t be unemployed when the 2020 season gets underway. There’s still a lot of pass rushing ability left for Griffen and teams need that, especially in a league that is all about putting pressure on the quarterback.

There are still plenty of talented free agents out there for NFL teams to bring in, but these are five of the best still waiting for their next NFL team.

Newton and Flacco are the two biggest names available at the quarterback spot. Neither is going to be a starter wherever they go – barring injuries or something unusual – but both would provide whatever team took a chance on them with a veteran presence in the quarterback room.

Clowney and Griffen are two talented pass rushers who are still unsigned. Clowney is the younger of the two, but Griffen had the better 2019 season. Ogletree is another defensive player still waiting to be signed, but he had a down year in 2019.

With the draft over, teams will spend these next few months leading up to the start of the season (whenever that may be) trying to fill the final needs on their rosters. Quarterback is the most talked about position in the sport and Newton is easily the biggest name still on the free agent market for that reason. His injuries and the fact that he’ll be 31 years old in May are the biggest reasons why he’s no longer with the Panthers and not on a roster at the moment.

Where will these players end up in 2020?
