2020 Philadelphia Phillies projected starting lineup:

Andrew McCutchen, LF (.286, 10 HR, 29 RBI, 2 SB in 219 AB)
J.T. Realmuto, C (.275, 25 HR, 83 RBI, 9 SB in 538 AB)
Bryce Harper, RF (.260, 35 HR, 114 RBI, 15 SB in 573 AB)
Rhys Hoskins, 1B (.226, 29 HR, 85 RBI, 2 SB in 570 AB)
Didi Gregorius, SS (.238, 16 HR, 61 RBI, 2 SB in 324 AB with NYY)
Jean Segura, 2B (.280, 12 HR, 60 RBI, 10 SB in 576 AB)
Scott Kingery, 3B (.258, 19 HR, 55 RBI, 15 SB in 458 AB)
Adam Haseley, CF (.266, 5 HR, 26 RBI, 4 SB in 222 AB)

Bryce Harper is still the prize of this lineup despite the drop in average. I have seen him drop out of the first round in some drafts. I’m still fine taking him in the second round. If they still play 100 games this year, Harper can still clock 25-30 homers.

Realmuto could be the second catcher off the board behind Gary Sanchez. He flashed power getting out of the cavernous park in Miami and still hits for a high average for the position. Be prepared to pay 4th round price for Realmuto if you want him though.

The massive drop in average is a concern for Hoskins. It’s also concerning that his average has dropped every year in the majors. He has nice power, but don’t pay the asking price. He looks more like Adam Dunn than Albert Pujols.

Are you sure that McCutchen is going to rebound? This is two mostly down years in a row, but he is batting leadoff in a very dangerous lineup. He is more likely than most to bounce back this season. McCutchen in a nice pick if you can grab him in the middle rounds.

The Kingery-Segura-Gregorius situation bears monitoring. Some sites have Kingery at 2B. Others have Segura. We know all three will be starting, but the positional eligibility could be big here. Kingery is more valuable at 2B than 3B, The same is probably true for Segura. Depending on who’s at 3B, they may not even be worth considering in standard leagues. I do like Gregorius as a late round pick.

Prospects to watch:

Alec Bohm has moved quickly through the minors and could be ready to step in at either corner should Hoskins, Kingery, or Segura struggle. He may also have to jump over veterans Jay Bruce and Josh Harrison, but if Bohm gets the call, pick him up. If you have a deep bench, stash him anyway. He’s the best prospect in the system and should be in Philly some time this summer.

Mickey Moniak didn’t progress as hoped at AA Reading last year. That has slowed his ascension to the majors. He could take Haseley’s job with a hot start for AAA Lehigh Valley if Haseley struggles. Moniak will still be only 22 by the time the season starts. He’s worth keeping an eye on and stashing in dynasty leagues.
