3 Potential landing spots for Cam Newton to revive his career

Pittsburgh Steelers
Cam Newton joining the Pittsburgh Steelers would be another situation with him coming into the season as a backup quarterback. Newton might have to follow the likes of Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton by backing up a quarterback for one season.
Newton signing a one year deal with the Steelers gives them a solid backup quarterback and a real chance for him to start. Ben Roethlisberger is getting older and hasn’t had the healthiest career as of late.
Their season was ruined last year when Roethlisberger went down. If Roethlisberger was healthy all season, the Steelers would have been a playoff team. A healthy Newton brings the Steelers to the playoffs in 2020 if Roethlisberger goes down.
After starting for so long, playing backup quarterback isn’t fun, but this could be Newton’s best chance to start. That comes with how serious Roethlisberger’s elbow injury was.
Another problem comes with Roethlisberger’s age. How much longer will he last in the NFL? The rumors of retirement started after he ended his season in 2019. Could 2020 be his last year? That’s very possible.
Newton leading the Steelers after Roethlisberger keeps them competitive for the next five to seven seasons. They’re in a tough division and need a quarterback with a strong arm and a mobile, big frame.
Besides Lamar Jackson, there’s no one better than Newton in the running game as a quarterback. He’s duel threat and with James Conner becoming a better running back, there’s a ton of things the Steelers could do with Newton.
Hopefully, he finds himself a job somewhere soon. I like Newton. He doesn’t want to be a backup quarterback, but he might have to for at least one season. All three of these teams could have him starting Week 1 of 2021.
