Home: Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray would love to have the sort of weapons employed by the Panthers on offense. The Panthers would likely love to have the quarterback situation sorted out like the Cardinals have (sorry, Teddy). That said, the Cardinals made their major move this offseason to bring in DeAndre Hopkins and suddenly a team with Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, and Andy Isabella as complementary options looks much nicer.

They’re going to need a full offensive arsenal if the Panthers look as deadly in 2020 as they did against Arizona just last year. The Cardinals made Kyle Allen look like an MVP candidate (4 touchdowns, 0 interceptions) and gave up 38 points to Carolina—the team’s highest-scoring output in ’19.

Given personnel losses and gains this offseason, expect a much closer contest. It’s here that the Cardinals’ bets on defensive imports like pass rushing linebacker Devon Kennard and disruptive tackle Jordan Phillips need to be solid ones. If so, the Panthers depleted front line will have a hard time moving the chains like last year.
