4. Baylor

The Baylor Bears sports department had a wildly successful 2019-20 academic year. Well, at least for Baylor. They competed with Oklahoma for the Big 12 title in football and they were ready to show they were the top team in the conference in basketball. In the preseason rankings, they were No. 16 in the nation. Now, they are looking at being in the top of the college basketball rankings after spending most of this past season around number one.

Jared Butler is expected to be the star that stirs the drink. He is currently testing the NBA Draft, but who isn’t these days? Expect him to be back to try to finish what this past season’s team started. He had 16 points per game in a very competitive Big 12, a conference that’s going to be a dog fight and the winner would absolutely deserve a No. 1 seed. Butler can shoot it from beyond the arc as good as anyone and has other shooting skills that make him a nightmare to cover.

MaCio Teague is also testing the draft waters, but he could be back too. A lot of these players are just seeing what’s out there, especially with such a strange field that’s fighting for positioning. Teague should be back for his junior season, to build off his 13.9 points per game.
