2. Tom Brady (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

2019 Stats: 60.8% completion rate, 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, 9 interceptions

It’s amazing to think that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have found an upgrade at quarterback after Jameis Winston led the league in passing in 2019, but few will argue that landing Tom Brady is a massive addition for the franchise. Winston showed tremendous promise as a passer for the Buccaneers, but his penchant for turning over the football was a killer.

That won’t be a problem for Brady, who has been one of the league’s most efficient quarterbacks for a long time. Brady should be revitalized by playing in warmer weather in Tampa Bay as well as having a capable collection of pass-catchers like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and old friend Rob Gronkowski.

The move makes sense as part of Brady’s stated goal to play until he is at least 45, but Tampa Bay has to hope that Brady can continue to defy Father Time. Brady’s stats have declined over the past few years, which his backers point out is a result of a deteriorated supporting cast in New England.

Time is undefeated, however, and Brady definitely didn’t look like the same quarterback at the end of 2019 as he did in the beginning of the season. That slippage is why Brady isn’t on top of the NFC South’s quarterback power rankings despite his lengthy resume.
