6. Jamie Newman, QB, Georgia

Admittedly, this is a bit of a projection. Jamie Newman is returning to college football for the 2020 season but he’s not returning to where he played the 2019 campaign. Newman spent the first part of his career suiting up for Wake Forest but is now joining the SEC football ranks after transferring to Georgia. Now expected to take over from Jake Fromm after his departure for the NFL, expectations are large for Newman.

Newman clearly comes into a better overall situation with the Bulldogs than he had with the Demon Deacons and we could see him truly explode. The quarterback has a big arm that could open up the Georgia passing game and has the athleticism and power to create plays with his legs and 6-foot-4, 230-pound frame. Seeing how he handles the change in the conference will be fascinating but there’s no denying the deserved hype around his arrival in Athens.

5. Dylan Moses, LB, Alabama

Perhaps the best indication of how much of a difference-maker Dylan Moses can be in the middle of the Alabama defense is that he missed the entirety of the 2019 college football season after tearing his ACL in the preseason and still would’ve been given first-round consideration had he decided to enter the NFL Draft. Instead, he rejoins Nick Saban’s club for the 2020 season and is set to re-establish his dominance.

Not only should Moses help Alabama get back to form on defense after a shaky year on that side of the ball in 2019 but he should wow with his production as well. When he was last on the field in the 2018 season, the linebacker loaded up 86 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and a forced fumble. With that experience and fire surely burning inside him to prove himself, expect even better numbers this season.
