NFL: 3 teams who should target Jadeveon Clowney
CLEVELAND BROWNS
It always seems like the Browns have an abundance of cap space and this year is no different. Cleveland sports $38.5 million in cap space, giving them plenty of cash to work out a deal with the former first rounder.
The Browns have a need for a strong pass rusher despite taking Myles Garrett first overall in 2017 and could use Clowney’s services. Garrett hasn’t been bad, but after the drama with Mason Rudolph last season, it couldn’t hurt to add some help at the position.
Cleveland is looking to turn things around after disappointing in 2019, but it’s a new decade and that gives new hope to the Browns. Signing Clowney could provide their defense with some hope moving forward.
The Browns have had a nice offseason already, bringing in right tackle Jack Conklin and tight end Austin Hooper, but they need to keep rebuffing their defense. Clowney provides an upgrade at pass rush over Garrett and Olivier Vernon and while he won’t come cheap, he could be just what the Cleveland Browns need to have a winning season for the first time in over a decade.
