Monday Night Football: Best games

ESPN hasn’t been thrilled with the NFL’s scheduling choices for Monday Night Football in recent years, often feeling they get a watered-down product compared to the package’s glory days. Those complaints get thrown out the window this year, since the league gave ESPN one of the biggest games of the season.

The crown jewel of ESPN’s schedule comes in Week 3 when the Kansas City Chiefs travel to M&T Bank Stadium to take on the Baltimore Ravens. The matchup not only features the last two MVPs in Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes but also should decide home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.

Monday night features a few critical divisional matchups as well, such as the Patriots-Bills clash in Week 16 that could determine the AFC East title. There is also a sneaky good playoff rematch between Seattle and Philadelphia in the mix, as well as a compelling showdown between Buffalo and San Francisco.

The package as a whole is its usual mixed bag, but ESPN certainly has no right to complain this season. The NFL did them a solid by giving them a few really awesome games they will be able to promote to the masses.
