NFL schedule 2020: Biggest game for all 32 teams
New York Giants: vs. Cleveland Browns
It’s been a rough few years for the New York Giants, who have been among the NFL’s worst teams since 2017. The Giants are on their fourth head coach and second general manager in that span, a far cry from the stable organization that had been a model NFL franchise.
Last season was a page-turner for the Giants, who moved from longtime franchise icon Eli Manning to young quarterback Daniel Jones. The move had mixed results as Jones flashed some promise but had issues with turnovers and ball security.
The Giants also have one of the worst rosters in football, with Dave Gettleman spending some big money in free agency to fill holes at corner and inside linebacker. New head coach Joe Judge will have his work cut out for him but it looks like the Giants are finally proceeding with a necessary rebuild.
One of the biggest games on the Giants’ schedule comes at home when old friend Odell Beckham Jr returns to MetLife Stadium as a member of the Cleveland Browns. The Beckham trade was one of the most controversial moves of Gettleman’s tenure but looks a bit better after Beckham struggled in his first year as a Brown.
Finding a way to top Cleveland would provide further vindication that the Giants made the right choice moving on from the talented but mercurial Beckham. A run at the postseason is unlikely this year, but a win over the Browns would certainly feel good for the organization as a whole.
