New York Jets: vs. Buffalo Bills

There are only two teams in the NFL who have had a longer playoff drought than the New York Jets. The last time the Jets made the playoffs was back in 2010 when they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game.

The Jets did show some progress at the end of last season, going 6-2 down the stretch to finish 7-9. That was a three-win improvement from 2018, but the Jets still have some areas they need to address to make the leap into playoff contention.

Joe Douglas has certainly had a busy offseason, revamping the Jets’ offensive line and adding to the overall depth on the roster. The biggest advantage for the Jets is that Tom Brady is no longer in the AFC East, making it much easier to win the division.

The Jets haven’t won the division since 2002, and their biggest obstacle to getting there this year is the Buffalo Bills. The two teams split their meetings a year ago, but the more significant game came in Week 1 when the Jets blew a 16-0 lead at home and lost to the Bills.

That contest sent the teams on opposite trajectories as the Bills reached the playoffs and the Jets started 1-7. Finding a way to top the Bills at home this year would be a great first step for the Jets in their quest to return to the postseason.
