Cleveland Browns 2020 schedule predictions: Picking every game
By John Buhler
Weeks 9-12
Bill O’Brien will regret trading DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals during the free agency period. That’s because David Johnson will do nothing in this game to help Deshaun Watson keep pace with Baker Mayfield and the Browns offense. A late score by Nick Chubb puts this one away for the Browns, as they beat another quality team at home this year. Browns, 31-19.
One team who just might be good enough to win the NFC this year will be the Philadelphia Eagles. They won’t be as quagmired by injuries at the wide receiving position as they were last season. Carson Wentz will give it to the Browns in this one, as Cleveland decided he wasn’t worth the No. 2 overall pick out of North Dakota State back in the 2016 NFL Draft. Eagles, 29-20.
Winning on the road is hard, but the Browns do have a favorable road matchup this year when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars out of AFC South play. Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew is like the chiller version of Baker Mayfield, so he might have a good day. However, he doesn’t have the talent around him to defend his turf vs. the feisty Browns this year. Browns, 23-14.
The Tennessee Titans are a vision of what the Browns want to be. They have a quarterback who can make all the throws, a bell-cow back who can hang with anybody and a swarming defense. If this game were in Cleveland, then maybe the Browns find a way to win it. It’ll be an ugly game, but one where Mike Vrabel‘s team hands Kevin Stefanski’s a narrow defeat. Titans, 26-22.
