1. Chris Jones

Outside of Mahomes, Jones is the most important player on the Chiefs’ roster. The organization has some work to do if it wants to lock him down for the long haul, but he looks set to be a key cog of Reid’s team again in 2020.

When he’s healthy, Jones is an absolute wrecking ball for this defense. He’s stout against the run, but he really makes his presence felt when he’s let loose to rush the quarterback. Jones is capable of giving this team 15 sacks per season if he’s given the proper level of support.

Unfortunately for his individual numbers, he isn’t blessed with a ton of help at the moment. Clark is a good pass rusher at one defensive end spot, but the combination of Alex Okafor and Breeland Speaks at the other spot leaves a lot to be desired. Opposing offensive coordinators are able to double-team Jones entirely too often as a result.

The good news for the Chiefs is that Jones is still able to fight through those double-teams and make plays. It’s a vital part of Kansas City’s defensive game plan on a weekly basis. Jones has to be great if this team is going to retain its place among the NFL’s elite in 2020.
