1. Derek Carr, QB

Since Jon Gruden returned as head coach of the Raiders, the rumors circling around Derek Carr have grown louder and louder every offseason. From the team trading him away, to them drafting his replacement, Carr has gone unscathed the last two offseasons, and is ready to lead this franchise into their new era in Las Vegas.

While Carr is a solid NFL quarterback, and one who can put up outstanding numbers, he has yet to prove he is a winner at the NFL level. Of course, he has had to deal with multiple head coaches and coordinators, a dysfunctional franchise at times, and a revolving door of players around him, but all of that has changed since the arrival of Gruden, and then Mayock.

Last season, Carr finished second to only Drew Brees in terms of completion percentage, and he had his second straight 4,000-yard season. At one point in the season, he had his Raiders sitting at 6-4 and looking like a lock for the playoffs, only to lose five of the last six games, including a home loss in the final game in the Coliseum that saw him get booed off the field.

The bottom line is, the Raiders season hinges on the right arm of Carr, and the hope is that he can return to the 2016 form that nearly netted him an MVP award. Gruden and Mayock have put the weapons around him to succeed in 2020, and after two straight solid statistics seasons, it is time for him to put more notches in the win column.
