LT Jason Peters

A nine-time Pro Bowler, Jason Peters is one of the best offensive tackles of his generation and is a former Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles. While the Eagles haven’t re-signed Peters, the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported earlier this month that they remain in communication with the experienced left tackle.

Even at the age of 38, Peters is still going strong in all phases of the game, as he’s always been known as one of the best run-blocking left tackles in the business.

Peters is receiving interest from teams beyond Philadelphia, as the Browns are among the clubs that have been linked to the star blindside protector.

The Browns drafted a left tackle of the future with their first-round pick, nabbing Jedrick Wills Jr. with their first-round pick in a wise draft-day decision. As talented as Wills Jr. is, left tackles take time to adjust to the NFL, as Eric Fisher and others can certainly attest.

Therefore, Peters could be a great transition option for the Browns, in the same way he’s likely been a transition option for Eagles first-round pick Andre Dillard.

The Browns would only have to commit to a one-year deal with Peters, and while he would want a significant payday in order to continue playing, it would be money well spent. Both Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb could benefit greatly from Peters, who would ease the pressure on Wills Jr.
