1. Cam Newton

The Bears need to go out and finally get Cam Newton.

The writing is on the wall for Mitchell Trubisky. The Bears declined his fifth-year option. Meanwhile, the Bears traded a fourth round pick to acquire Nick Foles who restructured his three-year deal shortly after his arrival. Foles comes in to reunite with Bears offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, who worked with Foles as a quarterback’s coach in 2013 with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Bears want a competition between Foles and Trubisky. However, they should look to put Trubisky on the trade block and let the best man win between Newton and Foles. Nearly everywhere Foles has gone he has been solid in the backup role but not when he has to take the reins of a franchise. With Newton desperate for a starting job, the Bears won’t have to pay top dollar for him.

If Newton misses a few games then they have Foles to be his backup. This is a team that Newton can take to the next level with a solid No. 1 target in Allen Robinson. Beyond talent, Newton’s personality fits the Chicago scenery. On top of that, Newton’s presence would exude confidence in their defense as they know they have an MVP caliber quarterback to lead this team. If Bears want to win now, signing Newton is their ticket.
