NFL: 5 best players to dominate with in Madden 20
By Ryan Fedrau
2. Michael Thomas (99 OVR)
Michael Thomas is the highest-rated wide receiver in Madden 20 but he also is the most consistent one. Thomas has an 89 OVR Speed Rating, 92 OVR Acceleration, 92 OVR Agility, 99 OVR Awareness, and 99 OVR Catching.
Thomas is all over the field, even though he isn’t the fastest receiver in the game. He is best used as a position guy, while also being 6′ 3″, so he has the chance to get jump balls over smaller cornerbacks.
With his speed being at just 89 OVR, he isn’t going to be someone who makes a big play from just a screen pass, but he can get catch the tough throws and make big plays out of little to no space. He is most useful when thrown to in the middle of the field, where he can take the ball and make a play with both sides of the field open.
He is almost impossible to guard unless there’s an elite cornerback on him all game. If Thomas is on your team, there’s a bunch of things you can do with him. He is great with one-on-one coverages, along with getting open.
The problem is, you’re going to need a decent quarterback, of course with any wide receiver in the game. With Ultimate Team, they’re just giving out quarterbacks, so there isn’t much of an issue there. If you’re starting up a franchise and Thomas is your top wideout, make sure to find a decent quarterback who can get the ball to him.
Lastly, if you play as the New Orleans Saints, chances are, you’re going to win that game if you can get the ball from Drew Brees’ arm to Michael Thomas’ hands. Along with Thomas, the Saints have a stacked team in Madden. There should be no problem running a successful offense with Thomas as your number one target.
