Parick Mahomes best play: The Pass in Super Bowl 54

Ask any Cheifs fan about The Pass in Super Bowl 54 and they’ll all know exactly which one you’re talking about.

The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs came together for Super Bowl LIV and it was a game to remember. The 49ers had a perfect game plan for the Chiefs offense for three quarters and about eight minutes before Mahomes was able to breakthrough. With 7:13 left in the biggest game of the season, the 49ers had a 20-10 lead and needed to stop the Chiefs from converting a 3rd and 15 to get the ball back and chew some clock and make it almost impossible for their opponent to muster a comeback. But they needed to not give up that big play.

A must-convert situation saw Mahomes call the “2-3 Jet Chip Wasp” with Tyreek Hill as his main target. After backing up at least ten yards behind the line of scrimmage, Mahomes stepped into a throw that would make or break the game. Hill managed to find a hole in the secondary and come right into the pass, keeping the Chiefs’ hopes of a comeback alive and becoming the most important play of Super Bowl LIV.

Patrick Mahomes’ best play of his 2019 season was in the biggest game of his career. With his team against their backs and little room for error, he tossed a dime do his favorite receiver to save the game and eventually put his name in the history books as a Super Bowl champion.

Not everyone will agree with this play as his best of the season, as the run vs. the Titans was one that will be remembered for a long time. However, when you look back into the history books and highlight packages for the Super Bowl, it will be this play that is remembered as Mahomes’ signature play of his career. Pushing the Chiefs ahead and winning the Super Bowl due to the momentum following this one.

It’ll be interesting to see what Mahomes cooks up this season on the gridiron, as he will attempt to top back-to-back seasons of an MVP performance and a Super Bowl win.

Patrick Mahomes’ new deal will rock the NFL’s world. dark. Next
