2. D.K Metcalf

Tyler Lockett is the most efficient receiver on the Seahawks’ roster, but D.K. Metcalf has the most talent. It’s imperative that he continue his progression in his second professional season to help this offense maximize its potential.

The former Ole Miss star surprised a lot of NFL executives by securing 58 catches for 900 yards as a rookie. His seven touchdowns were even more important to the offense. Metcalf’s ability to take the top off the opposing defense creates a lot of room for the rest of Seattle’s receivers to operate.

He’s not going to sneak up on opposing secondaries in 2020. That means Metcalf will be challenged to diversify his route tree. He slipped in last year’s draft due to concerns about his lateral quickness. Opponents will pressure him to work as hard laterally as he did vertically during his rookie campaign.

Ultimately, Metcalf just needs to take a reasonable step forward in 2020 to help this offense stay on track. Solid gains in both his catch total and yardage should set the Seahawks’ offense up for success.
