OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI – OCTOBER 19: Kendrick Rogers #13 of the Texas A&M Aggies reacts during a game against the Mississippi Rebels at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on October 19, 2019 in Oxford, Mississippi. (Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty Images) /

2.12 – Kendrick Rogers (WR – DAL)

I will be the first to admit that my selection of Rogers here has more to do with upside than it does landing spot. The Texas boy picking Dallas was a questionable decision at best, and at worst one that will cost him an opportunity to play in the NFL.

A talented receiver who was held back by inconsistent quarterback play from Kellen Mond at Texas A&M, I was absolutely shocked that Kendrick was not drafted. He has elite size and showed enough on tape to warrant being a late day three pick. He is good at the catch point due to his basketball background, but failed to put on enough weight and muscle to consistently deal with tight man coverage. He is however a very interesting developmental prospect who can take another step with an NFL wide receivers coach as well as a NFL strength and conditioning coach.

He showed enough in 2018 to get evaluators excited about his upside, but failed to impress in 2019 when he actually seemed to hit a plateau or regress. Again, quarterback play was an issue that also caused teammate Quartney Davis to go undrafted, so we cannot place all the blame on Rogers. With that being said, he has some work to do to make a roster with a competitive depth chart. He would have been better off trying to latch on with a team like Green Bay.
