Bundesliga player Serie A clubs should target No. 1: Mario Goetze

What can you do with a problem like Mario Goetze. The curious case of a player once hailed as one of Germany’s best could be the soap opera of the summer. He’s certain to leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer at the end of this season after not starting for much of the 2019-20 campaign.

Indeed, the man who scored the winning goal that helped Germany capture the 2014 World Cup has been a non-factor at BVB. Off the field, he’s had problems with his health, weight and team management. Some of those headaches have also included his model wife Ann-Kathrin Brommel, after Goetze decided to brand himself as half of an Instagram influencer power-couple

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder should be in the prime of his career. At the moment, he’s not. That doesn’t mean he won’t get transfer rumor love from clubs across Europe.

The Goetze saga is a reminder to Inter Milan fans of last year’s Mauro Icardi drama. The Argentine eventually left for PSG. If anything, Inter could use a talent such as Goetze, but it’s unlikely they would want to go down that road again. Otherwise, there’s always AC Milan or … MLS!
