4. Dan Quinn

Quinn is easily one of the most confusing head coaches in the NFL. The Falcons hired him due to his defensive credentials. Somehow, all of his best work in Atlanta has hinged on deploying a high-powered offense.

This could easily be the season where Falcons officials get tired of his defensive failings. Playing in the same division with Tom Brady and Drew Brees is a great way to get your secondary lit up. Atlanta’s pass rush still seems like a group that can’t get things done when it matters most.

The Falcons also enter the 2020 regular season with high expectations. If they don’t look like a playoff contender early then the franchise could easily opt to make a head coaching change to get things headed in the right direction. Arthur Blank isn’t going to sit idly by and waste another year of Matt Ryan’s prime.

The big question about Quinn’s job status is what the Falcons’ apetite for making an in season change might be. Clearly they are a franchise that values continuity. A slow start from Quinn might cause Atlanta to do something out of character.
