The Auburn football schedule has a tricky game vs. North Carolina in Atlanta.

Sept. 5 – vs. Alcorn State

Auburn survived a huge test against Oregon to start last season but Malzahn’s club won’t be pressed in the season-opener in 2020. Alcorn State shouldn’t offer much more than a speed bump for the Tigers as they get a tune-up game before their toughest non-conference matchup and then some early SEC play. Prediction: Win

Sept. 12 – vs. North Carolina (in Atlanta, GA)

There are a ton of people hyping up the Tar Heels for 2020 — and I’m one of them. Sam Howell was a stud as a freshman and should only get better with strong recruiting and another year of Mack Brown. With the questions about the Auburn secondary and my concerns about Nix, the Tigers are going to take an upset loss to start the year 1-1. Prediction: Loss

Sept. 19 – at Ole Miss

Lane Kiffin taking over in Oxford is something I wholeheartedly believe can turn the Rebels around. But as the old adage goes, Ole Miss wasn’t built in a day and, while there’s talent on this roster that should make them a fun offensive team, they simply don’t have the overall talent on the roster that the Tigers will be able to overwhelm them with. That’s especially true with Auburn needing a bounceback win. Prediction: Win

Sept. 26 – vs. Southern Miss

Keeping their competition in the state of Mississippi, the Tigers get a welcomed respite of sorts as they get a home game against Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles have been a solid program over the years but have been mediocre as of late. Even if Nix and the defense are still ironing out some kinks, this will be a good game to do it in as they should pick up an easy one. Prediction: Win
