Stephen Jackson had a NSFW message for Drew Brees on Instagram.

All throughout Wednesday, professional athletes have (rightfully) expressed their disdain, disappointment and anger over comments made by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

When he was asked about the past silent protests made by Colin Kaepernick and other black NFL players during the national anthem — which will likely return during the upcoming season in the wake of George Floyd’s recent murder by police and more than a week of ongoing Black Lives Matter protests — Brees totally botched his moment to make a statement and support his teammates in a predominantly black league.

“I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country,” he told Yahoo! Finance.

While Brees called for unity in a difficult time, his shortsighted response about respecting his grandfathers that fought for this country was blasted for being tone-deaf and completely ignorant to the plight of the black teammates he claims are all part of an NFL brotherhood together.

Former NBA player Stephen Jackson joined a growing list of black athletes to publicly call out Drew Brees.

Saints teammates like Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara and Emmanuel Sanders all subtweeted their quarterback, while safety Malcolm Jenkins released an angry and hurt video directed right at him. NBA superstar LeBron James called Brees out on Twitter, and former Pro Bowler Martellus Bennett unleashed an epic Twitter thread about Brees and racism in the NFL in general.

Former NBA wing Stephen Jackson joined in on the criticism, praising Thomas for calling out his own QB and bashing Brees with a NSFW video on Instagram:

"“Shout out Michael Thomas, man. Way to hold Drew Brees accountable, Mike, I don’t give a damn if he throws you all them touchdowns. Hold his ass accountable. Bad timing, Drew Brees, bad timing, bro. You play for New Orleans and you live in New Orleans. All them black people down there that support you? Drew Brees, you’ve gotta be a little more sensitive to the timing, bro. You can’t just be saying s**t out your ass. You should understand.“But y’all gotta hold all y’all white teammates accountable, bro. F**k all that s**t. You know what I’m saying? We’ve gotta end that s**t now. Ain’t no straddling the fence. All right? Y’all gotta check y’all teammates. Michael Thomas, I salute you, bro, f**k Drew Brees! Way to check his ass. If you ain’t down with us, then hey, you on the other side. All that friend s**t and acting like you support us, acting like you really down with us? We ain’t buying that s**t. All that half-ass supporting us? We ain’t down with that. The same motherf**ker you’re half-ass supporting is the same motherf**ker you’re throwing them passes to that make you get all these goddamn yards. FACTS. But y’all don’t like the truth.”"

Jackson, a good friend of George Floyd who has become a leader and vocally active in the aftermath of his murder, has unexpectedly found himself at the forefront of the Black Lives Matter movement as he and millions across the country seek justice and equality. Blunt as his message might be, it’s a necessary eye-opener to help educate the world about why this kind of “half-ass” support offered by Drew Brees and white people in general isn’t good enough.
