2. Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets have more holes to fill than draft picks, but they could certainly use an upgrade over Cody Zeller at the center position. Zeller misses too many games to be relied upon. Even when he does play, he doesn’t give Charlotte the scoring punch they need in the post.

More from NBA Draft

More than anything, the Hornets need to find a star to build around. Wiseman is a flawed prospect, but if everything clicks for him he could turn into a dominant big man. Charlotte is a franchise that should be taking big swings until they hit on a legitimate superstar in the draft.

The presence of Zeller on the roster would allow the team to bring Wiseman along at a reasonable pace. He could benefit from having a quality pro big man to learn from as a rookie. Wiseman needs to add maturity both on and off the floor.

The Hornets currently have guards who can push the ball and score in transition. They need a big man who can help them tie things together. Wiseman’s size and speed would fit nicely into what they’re building in Charlotte. He won’t suddenly turn the Hornets into a playoff team, but he would give them a quality young post player to pair with their intriguing set of guards.
