1. LeBron James can take over any game

Many NBA experts believe that having the best player in any game or series is a big key to playoff success. Fortunately for the Lakers, they still have LeBron James on their side.

Anyone who doesn’t understand his ability to take over a key postseason game hasn’t been paying attention to his career. He may not be quite the explosive athlete that he was during his athletic prime, but he’s still one of the most efficient stars in the league.

If the Lakers can keep any playoff game close for three quarters, then they can count on James to take over the final period. That gives Los Angeles a much larger margin for error than many of their competitors. His ability to make amazing plays down the stretch gives them a great chance to steal away wins in the closing moments.

It’s important to note that James’ greatness doesn’t just manifest itself on the offensive end. He also can afford to expend greater energy on defense in the postseason. That doesn’t just come in the form of chase-down blocks. James can also lock up any wing in the league when he’s properly motivated and energized.
