Clemson football schedule 2020: Predicting every Clemson Tigers game
By John Buhler
Clemson clinches the ACC Atlantic, this time a week before Halloween.
Oct. 2: at Boston College Eagles (Chestnut Hill, MA)
At 4-0 before the calendar even flips to October, do you honestly think the Tigers have any shot of dropping a road game at Chestnut Hill vs. the Boston College Eagles? Clemson could play third-stringers and clobber its rebuilding divisional foe. With it being on the road, it might be closer than you think, but Clemson still wins this one going away en route to 5-0 on the year. Clemson, 35-20.
Oct. 10: at Florida State Seminoles (Tallahassee, FL)
Maybe in the next time the Tigers venture into Doak Campbell they’ll have reason to be worried about the Florida State Seminoles, but with this being Mike Norvell’s first year in Tallahassee, Clemson will achieve bowl eligibility before the middle of October. Florida State will be better than it was last year, but the Tigers handle their division rival easily in this one. Clemson, 30-17.
Oct. 17: North Carolina State Wolfpack
Clemson will look to continue its dominance of its ACC foes when the division rival North Carolina State Wolfpack come to town in mid-October. NC State epitomizes middle-of-the-pack in the ACC, as this school has never won a division title at any point of its history. A few early turnovers by the Wolfpack make this a game where Clemson rests starters in the second half. Clemson, 37-16.
Oct. 24: Syracuse Orange
En route to 8-0 on the year, Clemson will get pushed a little more than expected by the Syracuse Orange. This is because the juggernaut Tigers clearly overlook its divisional foe with a bye week on the horizon the following week. Clemson will shockingly trail at one point in the game. However, late-game heroics by the offense yields another double-digit victory. Clemson, 30-20.
