Florida State emerges as merely a middle-of-the-pack team in ACC play.

Oct. 3: at North Carolina State Wolfpack (Raleigh, NC)

Okay, let’s pump the brakes for a second. Winning in Raleigh vs. a so-so North Carolina State Wolfpack team won’t by any means signify the return of Florida State football greatness. However, being able to win on the road in early October vs. a division rival should be seen as a positive step in Norvell’s multi-year rebuild of the Seminoles. Florida State, 28-24.

Oct. 10: Clemson Tigers

17. 804. Prediction. 30. 879

At 3-1, Florida State will be chomping at the bit to give Clemson its best shot. Even if this one is at home, Florida State knows it will need a Saturday miracle to upset the juggernaut Tigers. In two years, maybe the Seminoles can stun Clemson at Doak Campbell. For now, they should be pleased they didn’t get blown out and humiliated in this rivalry series. Clemson, 30-17.

Oct. 17: Wake Forest Demon Deacons

804. Prediction. 14. 889. 24

It’ll be a sleepy game in Tallahassee when the Wake Forest Demon Deacons come to town. Florida State will know it’s a better football team in the opening quarterback but will struggle to put away a declining Wake Forest team coming off a great year for the program. At 4-2, Seminoles fans will begin to realize their team will be going bowling this year, so that’s exciting. Florida State, 24-14.

Oct. 24: at Louisville Cardinals (Louisville, KY)

849. Prediction. 21. 804. 42

This will be Florida State’s worst loss of the year. Though it won’t be as bad as when Lamar Jackson ran all over them back in 2016, the Seminoles will feel like a third-rate ACC football team when Scott Satterfield’s program puts a straight-up whooping on Norvell’s bunch. Florida State can officially kiss a second-place ACC Atlantic finish goodbye. Louisville, 42-21.

Oct. 31: Pittsburgh Panthers

866. 24. 804. Prediction. 23

Weird stuff always happens on Halloween, doesn’t it? Though few outside of ACC country will be talking about this game, we’ll still be scratching our heads on Monday morning after what went down at Doak Campbell between Florida State and the Pittsburgh Panthers. Pitt misses four field goals in this game, including a chip-shot to win it after getting iced. Florida State, 24-23.
