The LSU football schedule offers an early-season test against Texas.

Sept. 5 – vs. UTSA

Suffice it to say that many of the questions we have regarding LSU in the 2020 season won’t be answered in their season-opener. UTSA is a mere stepping stone for the Tigers in this campaign. Brennan should gain some confidence to start his career as the starter in Baton Rouge and the champs will come through in a rout. Prediction: Win

Sept. 12 – vs. Texas

It was the matchup against the Texas Longhorns a season ago whenever the general public began to believe in LSU as a title contender. This will again be a proving ground for the Tigers. While Sam Ehlinger and the Longhorns are a dangerous offensive group, I struggle to believe in their consistency on either side of the ball. LSU’s deep talent pool gets them a crucial early-season victory. Prediction: Win

Sept. 19 – vs. Rice (in Houston, TX)

LSU makes their first trip away from Baton Rouge for a neutral site meeting with the Rice Owls, continuing their non-conference tour of playing teams from the state of Texas. They should be able to come out of the win over the Longhorns with confidence and submit another strong performance to move to 3-0. Prediction: Win

Sept. 26 – vs. Ole Miss

Back in Baton Rouge, LSU’s defense might get a bit of another test in September as Lane Kiffin’s Rebels should have some juice when they have possession. The issue for Ole Miss is that, even if the Tigers offense is a step behind what they were a year ago, the Rebels don’t have many answers for the athletes that will be thrown at them. Prediction: Win
