LSU football schedule 2020: Predicting every LSU Tigers game
The LSU football schedule finishes with an SEC gauntlet.
Nov. 7 – vs. Alabama
The Crimson Tide welcoming the Tigers to Tuscaloosa last year was a season-defining moment for LSU as Burrow led the charge to a statement victory. But while Alabama has to replace their own star quarterback, they have more certain replacement options there and more experience returning on both sides of the ball. Even in Baton Rouge, Nick Saban will get the revenge victory in 2020. Prediction: Loss
Nov. 14 – vs. South Carolina
Will Muschamp was able to get the Gamecocks to one upset victory last season but South Carolina still finished below .500 on the year. While they may creep a bit closer or actually finish 6-6 in the 2020 campaign, I don’t believe that one of their upset victories will come on the road against LSU. The talent disparity is just too noticeable. Prediction: Win
Nov. 21 – at Auburn
Finishing the season playing at Auburn and at Texas A&M is a tough beat for the Tigers. Having said that, they should have found their identity by now, which will be relying on Stingley and the talent-laden defense. Against Auburn, that will be critical as the home team has so much hitched to quarterback Bo Nix in 2020. My lack of belief in Nix’s consistency leads me to think LSU picks up a huge road win in the penultimate game of the regular season. Prediction: Win
Nov. 29 – at Texas A&M
The past couple of years have seen the Aggies’ hopes hitched to Kellen Mond finally putting together a full great season. Yet, it just hasn’t happened for Texas A&M. While this should ultimately be a close matchup between rivals because Jimbo Fisher’s club has overall talent, LSU should pick up the win to cap off the year before their bowl game. Prediction: Win
LSU football 2020 final record: 10-2
Considering all of the players that departed from last year’s title-winning team, the Tigers navigating this LSU football schedule and going 10-2 should be deemed successful. While it won’t result in a return to the College Football Playoff or even the SEC Championship Game, Orgeron’s club should be in another New Year’s Six bowl game.
