Carolina Panthers: QB Jimmy Clausen (2010 2nd Round, No. 48)

A highly touted prospect coming out of Notre Dame, there were high hopes for Jimmy Clausen at the NFL level. Carolina took him in the second round of the 2010 draft and he was miserable, throwing three touchdowns and nine interceptions in 10 starts as a rookie. Clausen’s struggles allowed the Panthers to get Cam Newton the next year, saving the organization from a critical mistake at the game’s most important position.

Chicago Bears: WR Kevin White (2015 1st Round, No. 7)

This spot could go to Mitchell Trubisky in a few years but as of today the biggest draft bust of the last decade in Chicago is wide receiver Kevin White. The Bears took White to try and add some speed to their offense but injuries destroyed his career. White caught just 25 passes for 285 yards in 14 games over four years.

Cincinnati Bengals: WR John Ross (2017 1st Round, No. 9)

The Bengals have actually drafted pretty well over the past decade but no one will dispute the pick of John Ross was a swing and a miss. Ross’ speed shot him up draft boards and Cincinnati took him to try and add a home run threat opposite of A.J. Green. Injuries have hurt Ross, who hasn’t distinguished himself when available, leading Cincinnati to decline his fifth-year option earlier in the offseason.

Cleveland Browns: CB Justin Gilbert (2014 1st Round, No. 8)

We could do a whole slideshow on Browns’ busts and it was tempting to go with any of their failed quarterback picks here. The biggest bust is Justin Gilbert, a corner who was given a can’t miss grade coming out of Oklahoma State. The next nine players taken after Gilbert, including greats like Aaron Donald and Odell Beckham Jr, have become Pro Bowlers while Gilbert was dumped to the Steelers in 2016 and hasn’t played in the NFL since the end of that year.
