5 reasons the Cowboys will win the NFC East
4. The offensive line is still really good
Travis Frederick’s retirement does leave the Cowboys with a hole to fill at center. Either Joe Looney or Tyler Biadasz is going to emerge as a decent starter at that spot. Dallas is blessed with high-quality starters at every other position on the offensive line.
That’s a great foundation for any offense to build on. The fact that the Cowboys also have multiple Pro Bowlers at their skill positions makes it easy to see how dangerous this unit can be in 2020.
The right side of the line may be the best group in football. Zack Martin is one of the league’s top guards and La’el Collins doesn’t get the credit he deserves at right tackle. The Cowboys are going to run to that side of the field a ton.
The left side is well above average too. Connor Williams is growing into a potential Pro Bowler at left guard. Tyron Smith might be overpaid at left tackle, but he’s still an above-average starter by any metric. Prescott won’t have to worry about pressure from his blind side very often.
The skill players in Dallas get all the headlines, but the offensive line is a huge part of the team’s success. It should power them to a division crown in 2020.
