Pick Analysis. East. 31. Scouting Report. NFC. New York Giants. 2. player

The Giants made a huge decision when they decided to move on from Eli Manning, who had been with their organization since 2004 and won two Super Bowls with the G-Men. Many figured this would be the case when they took Daniel Jones sixth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, but it’s entirely possible that Jones flames out sooner than the Giants expect and are in the same boat in the next few years.

Jones was okay as a rookie, making 12 starts (and appearing in another game) while throwing for 3,027 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He was sacked a whopping 38 times in those 13 games and led the league in lost fumbles with 11.

While it’s definitely way too soon for the Giants to replace Jones (he just turned 23 years old and only has one year of NFL action under his belt), him not making it past his rookie deal isn’t crazy to imagine. The Giants took Jones and moved on from a Hall of Fame talent for him, so they’re probably not expecting to be looking for a quarterback again in the next few years.

If Jones can’t take better care of the football and fails to produce wins, that could definitely be what happens for the G-Men.
