USC football schedule 2020: Predicting every USC Trojans game
With just one loss to Alabama so far, the Trojans enter November with a realistic shot at the College Football Playoff.
Nov. 7 at Oregon
Besides Alabama, this will be the toughest game on the schedule for the USC Trojans. One that will mean a whole lot to them as well. Both of these teams should come into this one with one-loss and their eyes set on a College Football Playoff berth. Justin Herbert is gone from the Ducks, but they still have a lot of talent on that side of the ball. C.J. Verdell is back after rushing for 1,220 yards last season. This will be the best pass defense that USC has seen all year as well. The Trojans offense is enough to keep them in it, but they fall in this one meaning they will not see themselves into the College Football Playoff in 2020.
Nov. 14 vs Washington
After a crushing loss the week prior, the Trojans won’t get any break as they welcome Washington to town. This game is still important though, as a loss could mean that Utah would get the edge over them in the Pac-12 South. Jacob Sirmon will likely be the starter for the Huskies and he will be able to stretch the field in what should be a pass-heavy game. What has plagued some of these Clay Helton led squads and kept them out of championship games, is the failure to win pivotal games. This one’s close, but the Huskies get the upset on the road, putting USC in the backseat within the Pac-12 South.
Nov. 21 at UCLA
What a disappointment Chip Kelly has been at UCLA. 7-17 in his two years there so far and I don’t see it getting much better in 2020. This is going to be a USC team fresh off two straight losses and needing a win to have any shot of getting into the Pac-12 championship game. This one isn’t particularly close.
Nov. 28 vs Notre Dame
This one will be a good old fashioned rivalry game to end out the 2020 season for the Trojans. With their Pac-12 fate likely already sealed, Slovis and the Trojans will have nothing to lose. Notre Dame will be a solid team no doubt, especially with Ian Book returning under center. But this is a team without much to go with Book, and in the end are outscored by USC, giving the Trojans a nice end to the regular season.
Final Record Prediction: 9-3
