4. Andy Reid can scheme wins for the Chiefs

The Chiefs are blessed with a ton of offensive talent to work with. They also are blessed with a legitimate offensive guru to work with. Andy Reid may not be a perfect NFL coach, but he might be the best head man in the NFL when it comes to concocting on offensive game plan.

Every week Reid comes up with a new wrinkle or two for the Chiefs offense. He doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel midseason, but those subtle changes keep the Kansas City offense fresh all year long.

Reid’s propensity to try something new every week serves to keep opposing coaches off balance. They never know quite what they’re going to see when the game begins. There aren’t many offensive coaches who cause that level of difficulty for their defensive counterparts.

The schematic advantage the Chiefs enjoy is particularly advantageous when it comes to overcoming divisional opponents. The Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers see Kansas City two times per season but they never get a firm understanding of what offense they’re going to face. Reid gives the Chiefs a subtle advantage on offense every time his unit takes the field.
