Tampa Bay Buccaneers: LB Luke Kuechly (2012 1st Round)

The Buccaneers were looking to add an impact defender in the first round in 2012 and selected safety Mark Barron out of Alabama. Barron was a disappointment in Tampa and the choice was made worse by the fact that Kuechly went to Carolina two picks later. Kuechly got to harass Buccaneers’ players twice a year for the next eight seasons.

Tennessee Titans: LB DeMarcus Ware (2005 1st Round)

The Titans’ first-round pick in 2005 was Adam “Pacman” Jones, a talented player who got into trouble off the field. A savvier investment would have been Ware, who the Cowboys took 11th overall. Ware went on to become one of football’s most feared pass rushers over the course of his career.

Washington Redskins: LB DeMarcus Ware (2005 1st Round)

While it was bad that the Titans passed on Ware, it was even worse for the Redskins, who got to see him terrorize their quarterbacks twice a year until 2014. Instead of taking Ware, Washington went with cornerback Carlos Rogers, who was a solid starter for them for six seasons. Hindsight would prove that Ware would have been a much better value with that selection.
