10 bold predictions for the 2020 NFL season

Pittsburgh Steelers lock down No. 2 seed in the AFC

Despite the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers did not have Ben Roethlisberger last season, they were still able to win eight games, and were not eliminated until Week 17 of the season. The 2019 Steelers saw five players be named All-Pro, including Minkah Fitzpatrick, Cameron Heyward, and T.J. Watt, who were all First Team.

Watt was a First Team All-Pro at Edge, and a second-team All-Pro as a linebacker. Diontae Johnson was a second-team All-Pro, and many feel it was head coach Mike Tomlin’s best job at the helm. Entering 2020, Roethlisberger is fully healthy for the first time in a long time, and he returns to an offense with plenty of offensive firepower.

Looking at the Steelers roster, they have some of the better depth of any team in football on both sides of the ball. Watt has become an absolute superstar, and the addition of Fitzpatrick to the secondary via a trade with the Miami Dolphins last season was key.

Last year, it was the Baltimore Ravens that locked up the No. 2 overall seed in the AFC, but with Big Ben back, not only do the Steelers win the AFC North, but overtake Baltimore as the second-best team in the AFC. This team won games without Roethlisberger last year, so imagine what they will do with him in 2020.
