Ahead of their ‘The Decision’ documentary, SportsCenter got a little too cute with LeBron James photoshops.

ESPN’s legitimately interesting documentary behind the making of The Decision airs on Sunday night, and while they’re rightfully promoting the work ahead of its debut, perhaps the SportsCenter Twitter account tried a little too hard.

In the Summer of 2010, LeBron James heavily considered multiple NBA organizations, including a return to Cleveland. In the end, the Miami Heat won out, giving James the best chances to compete for an NBA Championship with star talented he respected like Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, rather than the Delonte West’s and Boobie Gibson’s of the world. Such a choice led to chaos in Cleveland, and some sweet light shows in Miami.

SportsCenter is enthusiastic about ESPN’s ‘Decision’ documentary, but perhaps a little too much.

LeBron’s ‘Decision’ included far more than just the Cavaliers and Heat, as James had interest all across the league, including the Chicago Bulls, New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks.

While cool in concept, the Nets photoshop sticks out like a sore thumb. Just commit to Brooklyn, or New Jersey (preferably BK given the team’s current location). I am literally from New Jersey and do not claim the Nets as my own. They’ve moved on to Brooklyn, growing handlebar mustaches and visiting microbrews on the weekend. This odd attempt to pretend LeBron ever would’ve embraced New Jersey, of all places, just isn’t true. Their only cache was Jay-Z, and even that wasn’t enough to lure in The King, or many other top free agents for that matter.

Graphic design can be your passion. It doesn’t make this any more right.

In the end, both New York-area teams were spurned and instead had to play the victim as LeBron purged the Eastern Conference for the next half-decade.

dark. Next. Wait, so is Skip Bayless a LeBron James fan now?
